Switchboard upgrades questions
How do I know if my switchboard needs upgrading?
Common signs are old ceramic fuses, no safety switches, power tripping often, flickering lights, a burning smell or no room to add circuits. If you're planning a renovation or EV charger, it's worth getting it checked.
What's the difference between a switchboard and a mains upgrade?
The switchboard is the panel with your breakers and safety switches. The mains is the supply cable feeding it. Some upgrades only need a new board, while bigger loads can need a larger mains as well. We'll tell you which you need.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. In Victoria, a Certificate of Electrical Safety is issued for electrical installation work, and we'll provide it when the job is done.
Is it urgent if my switchboard smells like burning?
